Powerhouse Equiptment

The hydrogen farm ,like elements of a wind farm will need some key components. A wind farm is comprised of wind generators and towers, A hydrogen farm is comprised of hydroelectricity generators and hydrogen producing generators and storage devices.

Electricity generated by the turbine is used to dissociate water into hydrogen. The hydrogen is then stored in tanks awaiting off loading into the H2 delivery trucks. Hydrogen can be compressed to pressures of 20,000PSI. At these high pressures quite a lot of it can be held, tranfered and used at a later time and location. Its stoage and transportation is just as safe (perhaps safer) than that of propane.

Hydropower Turbine/Generator

A hydrogen farm starts with hydroelectricity generators. This picture shows a generator turbine combination made in china for world markets. This one will produce about 5 KW of DC power 24 hours a day 364 days a year. Thats a lot of power for its size and cost. It will require some annual maintanence but can lat for decades under normal conditions. The big advantage of this generator over that of wind generators is that it can easliy be installed and maintained on the ground.

Generator turbine combinations come in a large variety of configuations from 5-1000W. The choice depends upon the amount of flow provided by a location.

Water Hydrolyzer & H2 storage

The hydrogen producing generator and storage device likely contained in the powerhouse of the hydrogen farm will use all the power generated by turbine to convert it to very pure H2 gas. The gas is made from water with O2 as a by product. This O2 can be released into the water stream or harmlessly into the air.

The Hydrogen is compressed to pressures as high as 20,000PSI and held in High pressure holding tanks connected to valves, fittings and controls that will tranfer it to waiting trucks for use at a later time and location. Its stoage and transportation is just as safe (perhaps safer) than that of propane.
